Design Portfolio

A photographic and typographic illustration of my experience at Chatham Dockyards. I have explored the medium of photography to show an audience what interests me about a place and to encourage people to look past the main focus of a tourist attraction to find the real beauty. I have used typography in harmony with my photographs to describe what I saw and felt whilst I was exploring each area.

This Project was the outcome of a brief set by The Partners for D&AD. The brief was to brand a new concept for a touring art gallery in a hospital. I named my brand seek and used discovery and rejuvenation as the main theme. The stickers could be used to direct to the gallery or label the work.

This was a project for my Minor Project. I used a subject I am passionate about, student interaction, to base my project on. I wanted to take the way people interact through social networking sites and turn it into a creative interaction in reality. I set up a wall space and encouraged my peer students to draw, write and be creative. I called it Express Yourself and made a video of the progress and later turned the whole thing into a package that could be sent to institutions for them to set up their own Express Yourself wall.

This work is from my two week placement at a local Graphic Design company. It is a re-brand logo for the agricultural recruitment agency, Pro-Force.

A Christmas card design for Private Psychiatry LLP. The card is embossed and defined with silver foil.

The starting point for this project was a phonebook. I found a couple of unfortunate names and thought that would be a great way to take the project. I found all the names I could work with and illustrated the names with images to make stylized Tart Cards. Examples of the names I used are: Twocock, Lickiss, Ladyman and Horney.

The brief for this project was to create an image to illustrate a newspaper article about police stop and search on photographers due to terrorism laws. I represented the viewpoint of each of the parties featured in the argument, the Police, the Photographer and the Terrorist.
